Reader questions

01

Why does this site not give scores or stars?

Because numbers hide qualification. We write sentences you can test against the work and use a listening panel instead of a rating.

02

Do you accept payment or review copies?

No. We accept no payment, sponsorship, supplied material or promotional access in exchange for coverage.

03

Do you have any connection to the podcasts you review?

No. We are not affiliated with any podcast, publisher or platform discussed here. Names identify works only.

04

Why do your reviews not describe the events a documentary covers?

We assess craft, not cases. Event summary belongs to reporting elsewhere; our contract is how audio is made.

05

How many times does a reviewer listen before writing?

At least twice — once for shape, once with structured notes on transitions, mix and sourcing.

06

Do you publish transcripts or quote the audio?

We do not reproduce quotations from episodes or publish transcripts of reviewed work.

07

How do you decide what to review?

Public availability, craft interest and whether we can assess fairly without conflict.

08

Can a producer ask you to review their work?

They may write, but we do not take commissions or paid assignments. Unsolicited requests are read and usually declined.

09

How do you handle a correction?

We fix the page, note the date of change, and state what was corrected. Write to [email protected].

10

Why is there no comment section?

Comments invite case speculation and abuse. Mail during office hours is enough for factual corrections.

11

Do you review music or fiction podcasts?

Rarely. Our focus is narrative documentary and interview work where craft choices are legible.

12

How can a reader reach the desk?

Phone +65 6440 2318 or [email protected] during Mon–Fri 10:00–18:30 SGT, or visit the listening room page for directions.

13

Where can this episode be heard?

The featured episode is available on Spotify via the listen line on our featured review page — we do not embed players here.
